Christmas 2018 at BBC!
‘Advent Focus’ in our Sunday Worship times!
Starting Sunday Dec 2, we will have a few moments in each Sunday worship for an ‘Advent Focus’; a time when one of our families will lead us with an Advent Candle lighting and selected readings to help us anticipate the birth of Jesus. Our final ‘Advent Focus’ will happen at our Christmas Eve services on Dec 24!  This is one of the best parts of the season – a regular reminder of the real reason we worship!  After all, if there were no first Christmas there’d have been no payment for sins (Calvary) or resurrection (Easter) – no hope or reason to celebrate at all!!
Children’s Christmas Program Sunday Dec 9 at 6 pm
This was another special evening as our kids (young and older)reminded us once again what Christmas is! This year’s program was “The Christmas Express”, a story of how God works to soften and change hearts through the story of Christmas and the spirit of giving and sharing. The kids did a great job this was a great evening of celebrating God’s Greatest Gift – our Savior Jesus Christ!
Cookie ExchangeSunday Dec 16 at 12:15 pm
This annual tradition is a big hit because it’s a great way to share Christmas ‘goodies’ with your church family AND with senior citizens around the area! Each participant brings 3 dozen of their favorite ‘goodies’ (cookies, etc) and then takes home 2 dozen from the goodies everyone brought. The remaining goodies are assembled into gift boxes that are taken to senior citizens around the area when we go caroling that evening!
Caroling & Soup Supper … Sunday Dec 16 at 5pm
We gathered at church (west campus), split into 3 groups, and went caroling at the BB Senior care facilities and a few senior citizen’s homes. We took boxes of Christmas goodies with us to give out to those who are at their own homes – and then we came back to church to share a soup supper! This was a great time of spreading Christmas cheer and enjoying a great fellowship!
Christmas Eve Services … Monday Dec 24 at 6:00pm
Our Christmas Eve service was a quiet celebration featuring selected Scripture readings and Christmas carols to help us remember the night God invaded His own creation as a baby born of a virgin! Once again, this special Christmas Eve service helped set the tone for a wonderful celebration of The Greatest Gift Ever Given!
We realize the Christmas season can be very hard for those who are missing loved ones or struggle during this season for various reasons . Psalm 34:18 tells us that God is near to the broken-hearted and the crushed in spirit, and if you are one that struggles, please know that even without knowing specific stories or struggles, there are many people here at BBC who are praying for those who have a hard time during the holidays. God knows and HE can bring comfort – and we are praying for you!
